Run the way we ask others to be run
ImpactSphere is a limited liability company incorporated in Nigeria. Our governance framework covers accountability, transparency, risk management, ethics, data protection, and financial stewardship.
Accountability
Authority in the company is defined, delegated in writing, and reviewed. Every division has a named owner accountable for delivery, budget, and conduct. Decisions that affect editorial output, client commitments, or research findings are recorded so they can be examined later.
Transparency
We publish our editorial policy, our research method, and the funding source of commissioned work. Where a study is sponsored, the sponsor is named in the publication. Where we are unable to disclose a commercial term, we say so rather than omitting it silently.
Risk management
Risks are assessed across four registers — editorial and legal, operational and field safety, information security, and financial. Drone operations, field data collection, and investigative work each carry a documented assessment before deployment, including regulatory clearance where required.
Ethics
Our code of conduct governs conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, procurement, and the treatment of sources, research subjects, and colleagues. Staff and contractors are required to declare interests that could reasonably be seen to affect their judgement.
We maintain a strict separation between editorial decisions and commercial interests. No client, sponsor, or partner receives influence over editorial judgement.
Data protection
Personal data is handled in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and, where applicable, the requirements of international partners. We collect the minimum necessary, state the purpose at the point of collection, restrict access by role, and retain data only for as long as the purpose requires. Farm-level and community data collected in field research is anonymised before analysis unless the participant has consented otherwise.
Financial stewardship
Company accounts are maintained on a standard accounting basis with segregation of duties between approval, payment, and reconciliation. Grant and project funds are tracked against their budget lines, and donor or partner reporting obligations are met on the schedule agreed at award.
Raising a concern
Concerns about conduct, accuracy, safety, or the handling of funds can be raised confidentially through the contact channels on this site. Concerns are acknowledged and investigated; retaliation against anyone raising a concern in good faith is a disciplinary matter.
